Use Conjur for agentless connections
Organization of your Conjur secrets
To configure an SSH or WinRM connection using Conjur secrets, the username and secret (password or key) must both be stored in Conjur. For SNMP, the secrets to store depend on the version: the community name in v1 or v2c, or the username and the authentication and encryption passwords in v3. Their location in the Conjur policy is up to the Conjur administrator.
Configure a Conjur host for Cyberwatch
With Conjur, service users for API access are called hosts. We recommend that you create a host dedicated to Cyberwatch and give it read-only access to only the secrets it needs.
If your infrastructure is segmented, you may create one host per segment, each with restricted permissions, and register each host individually.
To add your Conjur host credentials to Cyberwatch, go to menu Stored credentials, then add a credentials set of type CyberArk Conjur:
The Conjur account is usually named after your organization, or may be the name of a specific secrets safe. The account must contain the secrets you wish to access and the Conjur host Cyberwatch will authenticate as
The host ID is the path from the root policy to the host resource Cyberwatch will use, prefixed by
host/The API key is a random passphrase generated when the Conjur host is created

Create an SSH or WinRM connection with Conjur
- In section Assets, go to Assets management > Agentless connections
- Click Add
- In “Access protocol”, select SSH or WinRM
- Select as Credentials your Conjur host configured above
- Specify the paths to the required variables, according to the structure of your policy
Create an SNMP connection with Conjur
- In Settings > Stored credentials, click Add and choose the type SNMP via CyberArk Conjur
- In Conjur credential, select the CyberArk Conjur credentials set configured above. It must belong to the same project as the SNMP credential or be global
- Choose the SNMP version used by the device:
- in v1 or v2c, fill in the Community name path;
- in v3, fill in the paths to the username, the authentication password and the encryption password, then choose the authentication and encryption protocols of the device
- Save the SNMP credentials set
- In Assets management > Agentless connections, click Add
- In “Access protocol”, select SNMP, fill in the address of the device and select the SNMP via CyberArk Conjur credentials set created previously
- Save the connection
The paths designate the variables of the Conjur policy, for example network/routers/community, and not their values. Cyberwatch reads the secrets from Conjur at each scan.
