Cisco Meraki discoveries
You can list all devices managed through the Cisco Meraki Dashboard (access points, switches, security appliances, cameras, etc.) by querying the Cisco Meraki API.
For each detected device, the discovery reports the name, local IP address, serial number, model, product type, and the related Cisco Meraki organization. The firmware version is also reported when available.
Prerequisites
- A Cisco Meraki Dashboard API key
- Read access to the organizations containing the devices to discover
The API key can be generated from the user profile in the Cisco Meraki Dashboard, under the API access section. API access must be enabled at the organization level: only organizations with API access enabled are browsed by the discovery.
Configure your API access
You may configure your credentials from Stored credentials in the lateral menu, then click Add. In the form, select type Cisco Meraki and fill in the API key.
Create the discovery
- From Discoveries, click Add. Click Cisco Meraki in the Local infrastructure category
- Enter the name of the scan
- Select optional groups that will be affected to the scan
- Choose the source of the scan (the Cyberwatch machine that will run the operation)
- Using the Credentials selector, pick the Cisco Meraki account registered in previous steps
- Select the discovery mode in order to choose which information will be used to list the discovered assets
- Choose a recurrence. The default value 0 days means the scan will be launched only once
- Optional - Select an agentless mode connection credential
- Click Confirm
When created, the discovery is immediately started as a background task. You may check the state of the task any time from Discoveries.
